Good Day in Pool for Tigers...

A Suffield team battered of late by illness and injury mustered excellent focus and effort, enabling them to swim past Hopkins and Westover in a spirited competition.

The diving competition was the inaugural event of the afternoon. Hopkins' talented Elena Savas (239.95) won the tight girls' competition, besting Emma Krasemann (227.40), Carlin Molander (225.65), Grace Reeves (150.15), and Anna Wilcox (145.85) . Our boys' triumvirate picked up a sweep, with Charlie TIlney-Volk taking top honors (269.25), followed by Kevin Kuzmeski (230.25) and Alec Wright (216.90).

Matt Titterton (200 free, 100 fly), Max Miranda (50 free, 100 breast), Shaun Johnson (100 fly, 100 back), Sydney Winters (200, 500 free), and Devina Bhalla (50, 100 free) led Suffield in the swimming competition with two wins apiece. A number of the swims were lifetime or season bests. Samantha Hagberg took the 200 IM with ease and finished in second place in the 100 free. Brett Smith swam to a very fast 55.65, just hundredths off his PB, to win the event.

All of Suffield's relays won, earning them key points. Some of the more impressive relay swims include Marco Secchiaroli's freestyle swims (50, 100 free), Miranda's fly split, Gavin Mastella's breast split, Jordan Slade's 50 free leg, and swims by Daisy Fauver and Abby James in the medley relay. Major improvements in individual events were posted by Mike Giugliano (200 IM), Wes Bartlett (100 free), Mastella (100 breast), Oscar Ceria (50 free), and Neil Budge (100 breast).
