Special Olympics Basketball
Continuing a tradition initiated by the Leadership Program, Suffield hosted Special Olympics athletes from Enfield, Connecticut, for a friendly basketball game on February 17. A group of 24 athletes split into two teams of 12 and enjoyed a day of camaraderie and sport on Kinne Court. Family, friends, and members of the Suffield community cheered them on as play unfolded in what was an electric afternoon.
Tori Tryon ’18 commented, “We love having these athletes come to campus and utilize our facilities for their training. It was an amazing opportunity to see the high level of athleticism they demonstrate and the passion with which they play. The support from the crowd fueled the players and made for an outstanding game. I was filled with joy watching it.”
