Originally from Argentina, Melina is a member of Suffield’s Department of Academic Support and Department of Languages. She is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires where she earned her bachelor and master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences.
Melina worked for three years at Suffield High School as a job coach in the Transition Program, assisting students with special needs perform independent life skills tasks. As a former Argentinean National field hockey player, Melina coaches field hockey with a passion and lasting love for the sport. She lives in Suffield with her husband Sebastian and three kids: Juana ’21, Mercedes, and Santiago. Melina enjoys spending time with her family, summers at the beach, and traveling to explore new places.
Although native to Northwestern Connecticut, Naomi spent eight years in Asheville, North Carolina, attending college and teaching at public and private schools. She is a summa cum laude graduate of University of North Carolina Asheville with a double major in Spanish and International Studies. At a young age, Naomi had a passion for travel and foreign languages. She studied German for seven years throughout middle school and high school, served for 10 months as a foreign exchange student in Lisbon, Portugal, and studied one college semester abroad in Santander, Spain. She also lived and worked on a farm for several months on the Azores Islands off the coast of Portugal. Naomi loves teaching Spanish and strives to incorporate music, art, film, and literature into her classes to help bring the language to life.
Naomi is pursuing her master’s degree in Spanish with a concentration in Teaching Methodology at Middlebury College. She is the dorm head in Samii where she lives with with her husband Nick and their cat Jasper. In her free time Naomi loves to cook, garden, and spend time outside.
