2009 Record: 9-1 (2nd Place - New England Division II)
The goal of the Suffield Academy boys' cross country team is to develop each individual into a lifelong runner. We aim to enjoy the rewards of the sport and train daily on one of the best cross country courses in the region. Throughout the season, our athletes strive to improve and complete at the highest level. We expect our athletes to train in the summer in order to avoid injury and be prepared for the fall season.
Team History In the past ten years Suffield has had a Tiger finish in an all-star meet qualifying position (top 20) at the New England Prep School championships in all but two of those years (2008 and 2012). Suffield has a strong team history in cross-country. Since 2006, Suffield has finished fourth at New Englands twice. In 2009 Suffield finished second, only one point behind the winning team. In Suffield's more recent history we have scored in the top ten at New Englands, finishing ninth in 2015 and seventh last year.
Season Outlook The Tigers are ready for another big year. We have only three of our top seven runners from last year but a large returning group who have stepped up this year and an amazing recruiting class. In addition we have some students who were previously at Suffield but new to cross country who are looking to make big contributions to our team. This year's team has great potential for another strong finish at New Englands.
