What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is our primary fundraising campaign to which alumni, parents, faculty and friends make unrestricted gifts that flow directly into Suffield Academy’s operating budget each year.
Did you know that tuition only covers 80% of a Suffield Academy education?
Suffield Academy, like other independent schools, receives funding from several sources: tuition, endowment income, gifts, and other fees (i.e., Summer Academy). The school relies on unrestricted gifts raised through the Annual Fund in order to bridge the gap between the revenue from tuition and the actual cost of educating a Suffield student. Suffield must carry out a successful annual giving program in order to keep tuition increases to a minimum and support the daily operations of the school.
How is the Annual Fund money used?
Unrestricted donations to the Annual Fund support every aspect of the school's operating budget including: academics, financial aid, athletics, the arts, student life, buildings and grounds, faculty professional development—everything that makes a Suffield education one of the finest in the world! In total, the unrestricted Annual Fund accounts for 9% of the school's operating budget.
When do I donate to the Annual Fund?
Each fiscal year we ask the Suffield family to make gifts to the Annual Fund. Suffield’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30.
How much should I give to the Annual Fund
Each gift, no matter the amount, touches the lives of our students. We encourage every member of our family to participate in the Annual Fund and make a gift in any amount that is appropriate to their circumstances.
