Andrew joined Suffield’s Department of Languages as a Chinese teacher 2014. Having grown up in the town of Suffield, Andrew began his study of Chinese as a freshman at Suffield Academy. After graduating in 2005, he attended Grinnell College in Iowa where he was a double major in both Chinese and economics. At Suffield and Grinnell, he was a member of the varsity tennis teams. He now coach’s varsity tennis at Suffield and is the Chinese club advisor.
After graduating from Grinnell, Andrew began a career in finance as an investment analyst for a Taiwanese mutual fund firm in Taipei, Taiwan. For five years, he studied a wide range of industries including renewable energy, agricultural commodities, mining, and consumer products. Andrew’s other interest include history, international relations, and table tennis.
Zachary joined Suffield’s Department of Science in 2019. He previously taught at Clarkson University and is excited to be teaching Physics at Suffield. He graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in physics. After six months working at an optics company in Irvington, New York, he was accepted into a graduate program at Clarkson University, where he received a Master of Science in physics.
While at Clarkson, Zachary’s focus was in Physics Education. Here he researched many different approaches on how to teach physics students and is prepared to use these techniques in giving Suffield students the best physics experience possible. In addition to teaching, Zachary is coaching the junior varsity baseball team. His other hobbies include playing video games, going to the gym, and star-gazing. Zachary lives on campus in Spencer Dormitory.
