A member of the English department, Mandi is a native of South Windsor, Connecticut. After high school, she attended Quinnipiac University where she earned both a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Since joining the Suffield Academy faculty in 2013, she has taught freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, as well as Beginning Literature. This summer, Mandi completed her Master of Arts in English at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College.
When she is not teaching, Mandi enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Radley. Mandi coaches junior varsity volleyball, is in charge of the international student passports, and is a dorm associate in Barnes House.
Allison earned a double-major in Physics and Applied Mathematics at Yale University and served as a teaching assistant for five years while working towards a PhD in Experimental Physics at Dartmouth College. In 2002, she attended the Klingenstein Summer Institute and in 2019 became a College Board Reader for the Advanced Placement Statistics exam. Allison joined Suffield’s Department of Mathematics in 2006 after teaching for the previous seven years at Mercersburg Academy. She currently teaches AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and Linear Algebra, but has taught many different classes over the course of her career.
In addition to teaching, Allison is the chair of the math department. She coaches sub-varsity volleyball and girls’ tennis and is a dorm associate in Nathena Fuller. She lives off campus with her husband Fred, their sons Miles ’21 and Theo ’23, and their dog Quinten. Allison is an avid reader who has been a Hugo voter for the past four years. She also enjoys knitting, baking, and cheering for the Red Sox.
