Team Philosophy
The main philosophy of the field hockey team is to develop well rounded student-athletes, who are able to excel in all aspects of the school. Our athletes are hardworking, and strive to push themselves to play to the best of their ability in every practice and game.
Team History
Suffield has earned the WNEPSA Class B title in 2006, 2009, and 2017, reaching the New England Class B championship in 2006 and the New England Class B semifinals in 2017, ending with an impressive 18-1 record, the Tigers are fortunate to play on beautiful turf field. Many players from Suffield continue their careers in college. Graduates have played or are currently playing at the following institutions: Babson, Trinity, Bentley College, Fairfield University, Johns Hopkins University, Springfield College, Union College, the University of Vermont, Northwestern University, Wheaton College, Williams College, and the College of Wooster. In addition, 14 seniors have received National Academic Squad recognition from the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association since 2006.
Season Outlook
With an experienced coaching staff and many returning players, several who are looking to play at the next level, the Suffield Academy field hockey team is looking to continue to maintain a strong program and return to the New England tournament.
