Andy has served two stints as chair of Suffield’s Department of History. He has taught a variety of subjects including world, European, Russian, Chinese, and American history, as well as electives in economics and business. He received the Richter Award for excellence in teaching in 1993 and the Pervear-Kinne Prize for coaching in 2009. Andy helped lead the Computer Initiative, which brought laptops to every student and faculty member on campus. He was founding director of the Summer Academy at Suffield, leading the Summer Academy from 1995 to 2000. He has also led many student trips to the Soviet Union, Europe, and China.
Andy lives on campus with his wife Andrea and they have three children: Graham ’11, Geoffrey ’13, and Emily ’15. Andy coaches the girls’ and boys’ varsity swim teams and the girls’ varsity water polo team.
